The purpose of the CHE-DMR-DMS Solar Energy Initiative is to support interdisciplinary efforts by groups of researchers to address the scientific challenges of highly efficient harvesting, conversion, and storage of solar energy.

Carolina Postdoctoral Program for Faculty Diversity PDF Print E-mail
The Carolina Postdoctoral Program for Faculty Diversity is pleased to announce the availability of postdoctoral research appointments for a period of two years. The purpose of the Program is to develop scholars from underrepresented groups for possible tenure track appointments at the University of North Carolina and other research universities. Postdoctoral scholars will be engaged full-time in research and may teach only one course per fiscal year.  The grants are for $36,282 per calendar year, with additional  funds for research expenses, including travel. All materials should be submitted via online application by Thursday, January 7, 2010.
 
EPA Seeks Student P3 Proposals PDF Print E-mail
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requests proposals for the 7th Annual P3 Awards: A National Student Design Competition for Sustainability Focusing on People, Prosperity and the Planet.  P3 supports undergraduate and graduate R&D and design solutions to real world challenges involving the overall sustainability of human society.  Areas include: Energy, Built Environment, Materials and Chemicals, Water, and Agriculture.  $850K expected to be available, up to 46 awards anticipated.  Responses due 1/5/10.

Pathway to Independence Awards in Cancer Nanotechnology Research PDF Print E-mail
The NCI Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer announces Pathway to Independence RFAs in Cancer Nanotechnology Research. The grants will support talented new investigators focused on research in cancer nanotechnology. The program is designed to facilitate a timely transition from a mentored postdoctoral research position to a stable independent research position with independent research support at an earlier stage than is currently the norm. Applicants may request up to $249,000 per year. Application Due Date: December 17, 2009.
