January 15-17, 2009 SERC holds first annual Solar Energy Symposium
The new UNC Solar Energy Research Center, housed within IAM, positions UNC to be a leader in creating a sustainable energy future by coordinating and leading a research focus on solar fuels and next-generation organic and hybrid photovoltaics. The Conference, sponsored by SERC and RTEC, featured 14 prominent research and policy experts in the field, including Nate Lewis (CalTech) as a keynote speaker. Prof. Lewis also presented an Inorganic talk on 'Sunlight-Driven Hydrogen Formation by Membrane-Supported Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting'.
