Steps to Access:
Researchers wishing to gain access to CHANL equipment will need to complete a safety training course, and attend a training session(s) for the instrumentation they wish to use. Follow the steps below to become trained and gain access to the instrumentation.
Non-UNC users should contact CHANL for access procedures.
- All lab personnel are required to complete the UNC Laboratory Orientation and Managing Hazardous Waste class. (http://ehs.unc.edu/training/lab/lab.shtml). All students and staff working in a laboratory setting are required to attend this class before performing experiments (you should have done this when you joined a research group).
- Fill out the CHANL access form , and obtain your advisor’s signature.
- Contact CHANL to discuss the experiments you wish to do, and to schedule instrument training time.
- Attend instrument training, and receive approval for instrument usage.
Approved UNC users will be given access to the lab 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
